Coming Soon | Fashion in Helsinki

Quite fond of the Yohji Yamamotos Coming Soon-brand he launched last year and been following it from the very start. Its also very cool that one of my favourite shops in Helsinki, Beam. has been carrying it. The whole fashion atmosphere has changed in Helsinki in these past years. New underground shops are coming rapidly, new streetwear brands are emerging and Im also proud of myself to be a part of the Stifla ry, a finnish sneaker community made for sneaker freaks. So nobody coming from a foreign country can't really say that here is no streetwear culture. I guess it's nice to live in Finland right now, on the brink of change.

Visvim will prepare for the launch of their website on Tomorrow ( July 1.st )! And I see that the website is already active. I think this is great for the brand because I remember couple year ago, it was very hard to find almost any information about the brand. I can't belive they survived 8 years without a website, but then again its cool to remain an underground brand.

Louis & Kanye & La MJC

Visvim FBT Lhamo-Folk | The Full Line-Up

Visvim is one of my favourite brands due to the sneakers. Didnt like the first pics what they shown to us in the past. The leather looked somewhat iffy and artificial because of the colours. But these pics fix that.I like the yellow the most, but the pearl detail looks best in the blue one. Here's also the interview with Mr. Nakamura what was released couple days ago. More info here.

Four Finger Ring part 1.

I will start making my new four finger ring during these days. I will make with a Play-Doh-like material jut like the one I did before ( watch pic from the facebook site ). Lenght is around 10cm and the height aprox. 3,5 cm. I've cutted it in the right form, then I let it get dry in the sun ( took a couple of days) and now starting to polish it ( this is the worst part! ). The polishing is not easy and you have to watch not to polish too much in one spot so that the material wont start to crack. I also have to wear a gas mask because the dust, what comes from the material, will be all over the place. Oh yeah you also have to watch that it doesnt get any moisture because that will make it soft again. More info coming in the future, but dont be afraid to ask!

tAz Arnold x yrb magazine interview

A nice little interview with Taz Arnold in the Yrb magazine. Gotta luv Taz!! I dont usually say I take inspiration from other people but Taz is dope! I think we have a very similar outlook on life and a collaboration in the future with this guy would be awesome. Check the interview here ( whole interview in the yrb magazine issue # 92 ). Nike Terminator Hi Directed by Swagger

Some new pics of the Terminator Hi made by Swagger. "The brown and aqua colored patent leather Terminator Hi has a slightly different silhouette from the classic Terminator Hi and a completely different tongue. " - Personally I think the traditional tongue would be looked better, but this is more exclusive naturally. There are two different colours on each sneaker. Release is scheduled for July, and I hope they would also make a western release.

Say It Right | Fashion Translations

Been wanting to put this on my blog, but never quite got the time. The Imperial Hotel Management College (I.H.M.C.) in Vancouver has put together an assortment of YouTube audio clips as part of its “Luxury Studies” program. I couldnt care less about Circa( I dont skate and the models are boring ), but this shoe is AWESOME!. Also with other colourways, but theyre not that cool. more info here ( If you can read :D )

What I bought today

Karhu Originals Harlem Air. " Karhu Harlem Air is a basketball sneaker from 1984. It comes with Karhu's own Air Cushion system. Leather upper with nylon reinforcements to support the ankle. It was, and still is, the first and only Finnish shoe specially designed for basketball. " Karhu was established in 1916 by the name of Ab Sport Artiklar Oy ( the logo created already then. ) 1920 the name changed to Karhu, and in the 1952 Karhu " dominates " at the Helsinki Olympics. This was the last lot of Karhu shoes made in Finland. The brand is now sold into the USA and all the shoes are made in Asia :S BTW in 1950's Karhu sold his original three stripes to Adidas who also used the same trademark. These are d.o.p.e! Well except the soles. Why cant the lux brands allocate time into the soles. :S I know! Because then they would look like a regular brand.

Rodenstock sunglasses

Today when I was in my local recycling center running some other business I suddenly noticed these glasses in the corner. They are vintage Rodenstock sunglasses made in the 70's in West-Germany. 130 pairs made ( this is numer 12 ). Rodenstock was founded in 1877, in Munich. " The competence for both ophthalmic lenses as well as for frames makes Rodenstock into a unique brand in ophthalmic optics because it can offer spectacles wearers the complete ”spectacles” system from a single source. " As you noticed there are only the frames left, but Im definitely buying some lenses to it in the future. Now, the coolest thing in these glasses imo is the colour. There are actually 3 different colours on the frames and much tiny details. Its a pity that my camera can't store all these details into the photo :S Maybe I make some more pics when I get a new camera. Cool thing was that I got them totally free. The shop keeper said these glasses have laid in the corner for ages.

New Accessories

Had to woke up super early today, because I had to take my grandmother into the airport. There I had my new accessory with me. Well I actually have had this already quite some time, but I haven't made any photos about it yet so. Its a Darth Vader Pez originally released in 1997. On the airport I also got a Marimekko paperbag designed by Sanna Annukka for free. Im pretty sure it isnt worth much but still, I like it. -sorry bout the photos made them quickly with my wacky camphone

Pierre Hardy Autumn/Winter 2009

Im 2 days late but I really like these!( hehe ) Had to post them people! Featuring some new models! My favourites here but its another thing to actually cop em since theyre so limited :S Plus my shoe size is 13 :D
I have noticed the sole is pretty same in all the luxury brands out there and mr.Hardy isn't trying that well neither.

Modern Creation Munich (MCM) - Vintage Belt Pouch

continuing the MCM news, I also like this belt pouch. Now a belt pouch is the right choise for a man ( or woman ) who doesn't want to carry all his gadgets in the pockets and wants a detail into his ( or hers ) outfit. Carry it with the right swagger, you can be very stylish. Taz could make a Tisa version out of this so it would have some more colour :P, but its still very nice. More info here

TISA PHENOMENON X MCM COLLECTION

Gotta love this new MCM collection what will launch at the end of the June. Now owned by Koreans cause of the tax problems the brand had ( and the HQ moved to Zürich ), new RTW collections will always be displayed in South Korea.
